5 Book Trailers I Wish Were Movies?!

Hey ya'll,
So as you know when a book is released their is typically this awesome book trailer that follows right after as a promotional tool used by the author. I have to admit when I see some of these book trailers my mind is taken by how imaginative and creative they are. Also, there has not been one book trailer that I have ever disliked. Each book trailer is always so unique from the other which is what I adore about them because to me a book trailer is apart of an authors signature. With that being said here are 5 book trailers that were so awesome that I wish they were a movie....

My Opinion

I loved this book trailer because actual footage was used to make this. I like the fact that I get to see real people instead of pieced together pictures that look like the same person. The creator of this book trailer did an awesome job and it definitely propels a reader to invest in this series because of how much of an investment we can see went into creating this trailer made especially for us.
Raygoza's novel is hot and I would get it while you can!

My Opinion

First off I love how cleverly placed these images are to show the inner animals of each character. Even though this trailer is short it still places a lot of information that will lead you cringing for more. White has hit all the marks with this one!

My Opinion

This book trailer is the definition of sexy! However, that isn't the half of this story. Rectify is apart of a love binding trilogy that will keep you highly entertained. This book trailer perfectly blends together the drama and love of their story.

#4. Schmagic by H.L.Oldie

My Opinion

I am always attracted by anything that involves magic and this book trailer is full of it! I love the illustration used in this book trailer. I find that it is very rare to find book trailers meant for an older crowd to use detailed drawings in displaying the message of their novel. I believe that Oldie did a good job at using these creative illustration to capture the essence of his books.

My Opinion

I am a big fan of Simone Elkeles and I enjoyed seeing a visual representation of her characters. It' one thing to read and visualize and then there's another thing to actually see these characters in real time. Simone Elkeles is a fantastic writer and this sequel to her Perfect Chemistry series is amazing!

As you can see it takes a lot to get on my top 5 list of amazing book trailers that I wish were movies. If you are an author or know of an author who has an awesome book trailer then comment their information below or send me a message using the contact form to your right. Also, if you happen to know aany of these authors or are huge fans of their work then be sure to share this post with them. 5 Books Your Child Should Have This Christmas!?

Hey ya'll,
Christmas is just about here, but let's be honest with ourselves...the shopping never stops. So when you're in the stores lurking about for presents please keep in mind that this is the best time to get books for your children. Due to it being cold outside and the roads typically being ruined by snow children are stuck inside with nothing to do. So here are five books that I believe will keep your family entertained and your children thinking during this brief break from school.

#1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

Synopsis

It’s a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you’re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

My Opinion

This book is one that I have enjoyed a lot! I really love this series by Kinney due to the fact that it contains things that relate to children today. We all face bullying in some form or even feel insecure at times while undergoing secondary school and I feel Kinney lets us know that it's okay to be who you are through the tales of a child. Also, the movies are a great tool to utilize in bringing this book to life.

#2. Shanna and the Big Race by Tiana Washington

Synopsis

It's field day at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, and Shanna is ready to win big! Join Shanna, Nia, Lela, Asia, and the rest of her classmates as they strive for field day gold. Mark...Set...Go! It's Shanna and the Big Race!

My Opinion

I always love stories that teach children strong values. And this children's book does exactly that by teaching them the importance of having perseverance, dedication, and believing in themselves to know that they can do anything that they put their minds too. Washington has created a great series!

#3. On The Run (The Wardrobe Gang) by Melinda Kinsman

Synopsis

The Top of the Wardrobe Gang are a close-knit team of book-writing cuddly toys. When Santa Claus delivers Thingy, a small but very naughty cuddly toy, they aren't particularly happy about it.

My Opinion

I personally love this time of year because of the fact that there are so many stories in relation to Santa Claus and they are all uniquely different! Which is exactly what you get when you read a book from Author Melinda Kinsman. I adore her work and it truly has my 7 year old brother and I in the holiday spirit.

#4. The True Story of Christmas by Scott Freeman

Synopsis

The True Story of Christmas explains the reason we celebrate a holiday called Christmas and gives the historical context of the birth of Jesus according to the Bible. The story begins with God’s perfect creation and the tragic consequences of the fall for humanity. After Noah’s flood, God’s restorative plan begins with His choosing of Abraham and the people of Israel. Kids are introduced to Israel’s prophets and their foretelling of a special child who would one day be born to set up a good and everlasting kingdom. The Christmas story is the beginning of the fulfillment of this long-anticipated event.

My Opinion

I love this children's book because it tells the story of how Jesus was born without losing the importance of why he was born. I feel this is a very educational story detailing how Jesus came into this world and it helps a child to get closer to their religious faith and what Christmas really signifies.

#5. Duck's First Day of School by Author KMJ

 Synopsis

Duck's First Day of school entails the trials and tribulations that a young boy named Duck experiences while attending school for the first time. Will Duck make new friends? Or will bullies get in his way?  Duck relates to everyone by showing you can conquer your fears with courage that just multiplies. In addition, children will learn to appreciate the differences of others.

My Opinion

I wrote this children's book at the age of 7 years old and I really wanted to show children that you can find friends in unexpected people. And that the person they may count out is actually better for them to have in their life. Nothing in my book is computer animated so that children can mimic the illustrations at home. This story is relatable to everyone because we've all had to go through that first day of school and have had to face our fears.

That's it for my top 5 list of books your child should have this Christmas. As always the link to purchase these books are on the title. In addition, if you are looking for a book for someone that is older than 8 years of age you should check out my latest post.

Until Next Time! ;*  Merry Christmas.....

10 Books Your Teen Should Have This Christmas?!

Hey ya'll,
So Christmas is right around the corner and if you are like me then you must still have tons of shopping left to do. And something that I most definitely like to purchase during these winter months are books! For the past ten days as I braved through my college finals I was able to narrow down my search of hundreds of books to only ten that are must-haves for this holiday season.

Synopsis

The remnants of the United States of America have been divided. From five enormous, technologically-advanced cities, the Greaters rule over the Lessers.
In the Lesser village of Orchard, things are not as perfect as Abby Kelley thinks they are. When the apple harvest draws near and the Greater’s engineered fruits become too much for one village to handle alone, reinforcements from neighboring villages are called upon.
Having to choose between her best friend, whom she has no romantic feelings for, and mysterious newcomer Crew, Abby finds herself in the middle of a harvest that she had no intention of becoming a part of. She becomes involved in a situation that threatens the strict rule of the Greaters, and just might give the Lessers hope for a better tomorrow. But, can she help the Lessers without losing Crew? And if she chooses Crew, will she lose her best friend?

My Opinion
Author Casey L. Bond never ceases to amaze me with her artistry when it comes to her writing and developing a new spin on what seems to be an age old story being passed around throughout time of teen heartbreak. If you are a person that loves the Divergent series then this novel is right for you!

#2. Driven To Kill by Chris Ward

Synopsis

There is mayhem and murder committed by two young thugs in the local areas of Epsom and Leatherhead. Foster and her sidekick Mick Hill, are chasing shadows as the thugs are not only ruthless, but extremely clever.
An adult story full of suspense, spectacular action, violence, passion, intrigue and tears.

My Opinion
I have alway been a huge fan of the mystery genre. I love the works of Stephen King and even James Patterson. I feel they are wonderful writers. I also believe that Author Chris Ward is an amazing writer as well. Ward captures crime in a wonderfully suspenseful manner. If you want your mind to get to work then this is definitely a novel you should check out!

#3. Eluding Illusions by Wren Michaels

Synopsis
Emma Banciu dreams about her novels taking on a life of their own. Thanks to a centuries old Gypsy curse, they tend to do just that. Writing with pen and paper she brings things to life, and hell hath no fury like an antagonist scorned. Now she's on the run from Kyrin, an evil demon warlord who surfaced from one of her first manuscripts. And the only way to get rid of him is to destroy the manuscript.

My Opinion
I have read a few books by Author Wren Michaels and I have yet to be disappointed by anything she creates. This novel is kind of like the newly released Goosebumps movie except I find that this will appeal more to adults instead of children because of the context of this novel.

#4. Forever Since An Apple by Ken Welsch

Synopsis

Reality TV stardom. Garage band dreams. Through the lens of his camera, news photographer Daniel Evart sees a world in which opportunities are evident and success is clearly defined. If only life was that simple. Set on a fictional college campus in rural northwestern Michigan, "Forever Since An Apple" tells the story of how Daniel struggles with early-adulthood confusion and learns to define his own measure of success.

My Opinion

This a great coming of age tale about a young adult coming into his own. If you love John Green then you will most definitely love Welsch's novel. This is a must-read for all.

#5. The Reluctant Sacrifice by Kerr-Ann Dempster

Synopsis

Centuries ago, sibling rivalry tore Aramith apart. As punishment, the losers were stripped of their immortal birthright and banished to Earth. There, they wasted away from old age and diseases. However, there is hope… If a Shaw child, born on the 12th day of the 12th month offers her soul in a public sacrifice, then the exiles will be forgiven and welcomed home to Aramith. Aubrey Shaw is that child, but dying for the exiles is not on her to-do list. Using her gift as a Jumper, Aubrey leaps between bodies to escape relentless shape-shifting hunters.

My Opinion

I loved this novel and I am desperate to get my hands on the next installment of this novel. There is so much action occurring non-stop that will keep you glued to the pages! Make sure you check this book out. It surpassed my expectations.

#6. Chasing Memories by Ellie Wade

Synopsis

What if you found him, the one who was put on this earth for you? He was your perfect partner, your soul mate. Your life with him was more than you could have ever hoped for. The two of you created an amazing family full of so much love.
I did. And it was everything.
Then, one day, I woke up, and he was gone. They were all gone.
I can’t accept it. I’m stuck in a reality that isn’t mine, aching for the life I lost, one that made up the very fabric of my soul.

My Opinion

What I love about the winter time is that you have all these interesting love stories being told that just melt your heart! And this novel is something that is so intriguing that it will keep you highly entertained and in the "loving" spirits this Christmas...at least for a little while.

#7. 97 (The Rise of the Battle Bred Trilogy) by V.L. Holt

Synopsis

Jane Burrows is the girl next door, well actually, five doors down from the new kid. She’s happy with her life: she’s got One True Friend, a set of wheels, and the best job ever, newspaper delivery girl! She’s not even super annoyed when William McLeod starts following her around like a puppy dog. He’s hot, after all. Except, what’s with the spooky overprotective thing? What’s with his stern opinions on ancient warfare? What’s with his evasive answers to the most simple questions? Just...what’s with William? If Jane’s honest with herself, she wants it to be her! William’s living on borrowed time.

My Opinion

I don't know about you guy's, but I am always in the mood for a story on the magical side. If you are looking f enchanting Christmas wit magical mystery to solve then this novel is for you! Join Jane as she finds out who she is within.
#8. The Dimension Thieves by Misty Provencher

Synopsis

Antythera is the new Earth.Why?
Because that’s what President Baro, ruler of the planet, wants to call it. And if you don’t agree, the President will have you Droned.
The world has become a much smaller place since the lower and middle classes have been converted to mindless servants.  Free will, granted only to the elite, is in jeopardy of complete extinction.
But Force Steele, son to one of the President’s highest ranking advisors, can’t live under the thumb of his controlling father, or the President, any longer. Force has dedicated himself to eradicating Droning, but when the President orders the Antidote Gear destroyed—the part of the machine that could free the drones by reversing the program that controls them—all is lost. Lacking necessary materials, there is literally no way in Force’s world to replace the one-of-a-kind gear.

My Opinion

This book has been at the top of my TBR list for too long! I am so sad to say that I was in the same room with Misty Provencher and I did not get a chance to meet her, but hopefully in the near future I will get to see her again sometime! #SheRocks #Inspired Be sure to check this book out so we can fangirl about it together.

#9. Saved By Her by Michelle Horst

Synopsis

Jack

I F**K.
That’s all I do, all I’m good for.
People pay thousands just to have a taste of me.
It’s the only life I’ve ever known.
…until her.

River

I work.
That’s all I do, it’s my safe zone.
I get paid well because I’m good at my job.
It’s the only place I feel in control.
…until him.

My Opinion

I do not recommend this book ro anyone under the age of 18. I love this novel because it reminds me of Simone Elkes novel Perfect Chemistry. As I stated before I love a good love story and this is just what I need to keep me entwined this Winter.

#10. Laws of Passion by Author KMJ

Synopsis

Laws of Passion is a novel that follows the life of a teenage girl named Audrey Kennedy as she mourns the death of her father and unknowingly becomes captivated by a supernatural creature who happens to have a vendetta against her family. Will she find out the truth? Or will she suffer the consequences from the sins of her family? Read it to find out more.

My Opinion

This is the first young adult novel that I have ever published. Please check it out if you are looking for a love story wrapped in so many layers of mystery which will cause you to question who to trust. Laws of Passion is the ultimate puzzle.
The question is will you be able to put the pieces together?

The Ultimate Nanowrimo Playlist!

Hey ya'll,
So I am aware that a ton of authors and aspiring writers are taking that big challenge of writing a novel in one month! And I have to say kudos to you if you are actually trying to attempt this daunting challenge. Now I don't know about you, but I like to write when I have my music turned up loud and the sun shining through my window. So I wondered what could I do to help authors keep good vibes while writing and I came up with this ultimate playlist to see you through! Let's take a look.

#1. Nick Jonas ft. Tinasche (Remix)- Jealous

#2. Rita Ora- Poison

#3. Taylor Swift- Wildest Dreams

#4. Taylor Swift- Style

#5. Meek Mills ft. Nicki Minaj, Chris Brown- All Eyes On You

#6. Ariana Grande- Focus

#7. Ariana Grande ft, The Weeknd- Love Me Harder

#8. The Weeknd - Earned It (Lyric Video)

#9. Adele- Hello

#10. Adele- Rolling In The Deep

#11.  Beyonce ft. Nicki Minaj- Feeling Myself

#12.  Beyonce ft. Lady Gaga- Video Phone

#13. Lady Gaga- You and I

#14. Selena Gomez- Good For You

#15. Big Sean ft. Jhene Aiko- I know

My playlist won't work for everyone, but hopefully it will work out for the majority of you that visit my site! I hope that you have an amazing month of writing and I pray that you keep your head up as you embark on what others view as the impossible. My playlist for Nanowrimo starts out with a big tempo and gradually slows down before becoming hard hitting again. My idea was to give you a playlist that will push you through the first stages of planning and then will slow down as you get deeper into your writing while a surge will gradually come in to wake your mind up to keep writing. In addition, I chose mainly new songs that are current with radio today so that it's easier to vibe too.

Until Next Time ;*

Book Review #18: Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk

Hey ya'll,
So I had the opportunity to read the novel Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk and it was one of the most mind-altering novels I have read today!

So first off one thing about this novel that I hoped would happen is that our narrator would finally reveal his name. I felt like I needed to call him by something which sort of drove me to read this novel as fast as I did. Throughout this novel you get to see the nameless narrator's life with the captivating Tyler Durden and the quirky Marla Singer.

As our narrator begins spending time with Tyler together they are able to cultivate an underground club which is a place for men to be men called.... Fight Club! A place where anything goes and only men who are slaves to a higher power are able to attend.

Now being in fight club there are of course a couple of rules and my favorite rule happens to be both rules one and two: You don't talk about fight club!

I loved Fight Club because it stressed this brotherhood through the eyes of this man ridden with insomnia who suffers from some type of mental disorder. I enjoyed seeing how this man who we obviously can tell was out of his mind was able to create this almost "secret" society through a program he facilitated out of fight club called Project Mayhem.

Now I don't want to give too much away so I will just say this. Fight Club was an awesome novel. Palahniuk took my mind to another place that was both crazy and humorous at the same time. Tyler Durden is my favorite character! I enjoyed how outspoken and headstrong he is which made me enjoy seeing his character because it complimented our shy narrator.

I am fortunate enough to have read both the novel and have been able to watch the movie as well! I can tell you that I wasn't disappointed with either. Even with the movie missing a few details this was a rare occasion for me to read a novel and watch the movie of a novel and still be in love with both. Palahniuk is truly gifted!

Top 5 Thrillers of October

Hey ya'll,
So we are well into October and things are getting spookier as the day of Halloween draws closer to us. With that being said, here are the top 5 thrillers you need to read to keep you in the crazy moments of October!!!!!

Synopsis

The world is a pretty straightforward place. Even for medium Sara Stone things seem pretty simple, aside from the whole talking to spirits bit. But when the spirits get too hard to handle and Sara ends up admitted to a mental hospital, the world starts to seem a lot less straightforward. First her family disappears, including her four year old son. Then she gets the sneaking suspicion that not only are the staff at the mental hospital somehow connected, but they also have no intention of ever letting her leave the hospital.
Everything changes when Sara has her first visitor in three months. Daniel is handsome, friendly, and a complete stranger. When he promises to spring her from the hospital and swears that everything she's experienced is completely real, Sara has no choice but to believe him. But once she reaches a run-down Victorian house in the tiny Alabama town her rescuer calls home, the last thing she expects to discover is that every memory she has is a lie.
Daniel reveals a world filled with angels, demons, and an impending war humans know nothing about. Sara wants to ignore her role in the whole mess – all that matters is solving the mystery of where her son has gone. But the forces of Heaven, Hell, and the Heart have other plans for her. Can she find her child before the world comes crashing down?

My Opinion

What caught my eye about this novel would have to be the cover! It is very rare to see a female grace the cover of a book and let alone be the lead in that story as well. I love the dramatic aspect of this piece and how this book is giving us a new perspective on what a novel can be about. This novel clearly shows us that vampires aren't our only worries.

Synopsis

Before the legend of the Keepers, came the story of the Wolf.

Once upon a time, there lived a man whose fate would rest with two sisters. One will hold his heart. With her, he will find a love that will last forever, though it will come with a price.
From the other sister, he will learn fortitude as he discovers that she holds the power to destroy all he holds dear. For as easily as one sister captures his heart, the other will trap his soul.

My Opinion

Up above is the prequel to the Keepers Saga! First off, who doesn't love a good Werewolf tale to read throughout the scariest time of year? A full moon, a man who shifts into a dominating predator, and the love triangles that keep getting complex.
This is the perfect novel to give you a good fright and an entertaining plot twist.

#3. The Bound Series by Eve Newton

Image result for eve newton bound

Synopsis

He knew her body was just the host, he knew she was possessed by a Demon, but he didn't care. Slade loved her, but she betrayed him so he kidnapped her to punish her. He didn't count on ending up with someone he didn't bargain for. She tricked him and he fell for it and her, only to have her taken away from him and the woman he originally wanted returned to him. Only he doesn't want his Demon Mistress any more. He wants the woman he lost. Can Slade bring her back and get rid of the others, or will she be lost to him forever? A paranormal, erotic short story with a dark twist.

My Opinion

I do not recommend this novel to be read by anyone under the age of 17 due to it being an erotic paranormal short story. What I love about this story is that it shows us the messiness of life in general beside the whole demon thing. It really pushes us to look at the consequences of our actions. You not only get this sexy story, but you also get something deeper here that will scare you all while enlightening you on what sacrifice is. Newton surely has outdid herself and others in her genre! I look forward to seeing more from her.

Synopsis

When Grace Allen discovers a valuable ring in a gutter, she thinks it’s her lucky day, but, fate has other ideas. Now, Grace finds herself not only the keeper of tremendous power, but the only person in the world able to wield it.
Seth McPhee is a monster on the hunt and his prey has never been more seductive. While Grace's powers will ensure his leadership in the underworld, her beauty will make her captivity a pleasure.
Rushing to the rescue is Lucian, a man who is more than he seems.
Will he prove to be the white knight that he claims, or is he just another beautiful monster?

My Opinion

Young adult novels never cease to amaze me! And what I love is that authors like Basso are constantly reinventing what it truly means to be an author. Also, I love the fact that true authors can give an entirely different spin on something that may have seemed played out and create such a masterpiece with their own creativity.
Great job Basso!

Synopsis
If you could have the power to control evil, would you want it?

In a rainy, misty town filled with moss-covered trees and dwarfed by wooded mountains, Astoria, Oregon, holds many secrets and eighteen-year-old Paige Reed is one of them. She’s immortal, has magical abilities she’s discovering, and harbors King Solomon’s power inside her. With his incantations, she can control the dark spirits who lurk among societies in soulless humans.

But her problems are mounting.

Her best friend slips into a coma, and Paige must tap into her newfound powers—powers she’s unsure of—to save her.

My Opinion

I have always been drawn to stories that have a dilemma so unbelievable that it puts me in the shoes of the characters themselves and that's how I feel with Ford's novel. Having the power to control evil makes a person feel responsible yet scared because the task itself seems daunting. Which is what makes this novel so appealing.
