Mission!
I created my blog KMJ Book Reveals November 25th of 2014. My mission was to create a site that would act as a platform for authors, writers, and readers to connect and discuss their favorite published works and how well they have been integrated into mainstream media.
Along with a few editorials surrounding what's hot in pop culture today.
About Me!
At the age of 7 years old I penned my first children's book, Duck's First Day of School. When I reached the age of 16 I considered my options before deciding to self-publish my first children's book, Duck's First Day of School which details the different first-experiences a child has. A year later I embarked on another adventure which resulted in this beautiful website you see today. As I got better at my writing craft I decided to publish my first young adult novel, Laws of Passion which is about a teenage girl named Audrey Kennedy as she becomes unknowingly enticed with a boy that has a vendetta against her family.
And as of 2016 I am currently hard at work on my own app while focusing on publishing my next children's book to follow-up in my Duck's Adventure Series.
Rating System!
There are a number of things that I take into account when I review books.
Grammar
I don't allow all misspelled words to stop my flow of reading, but if it becomes too much then I will say something in my review. The flow of your book should never be consistently interrupted.
Plot
I am always looking for a story hat is unique from what teens already see in books today. However, if you do use a classic theme that is used in many books I appreciate seeing what your take is on a certain subject. An example would be vampires. In some books they sparkle in others they can have children. I want to see what sets you apart from the rest.
Setting
For the first time last year I was introduced to steampunk and I loved it. I want a book that is comfortably formed to suit the needs of its characters.
Characters
I look at every character that you mention in your book. I look at how different they are and whether or not you made these specific characters your own. I look at the complexity of their relationships and how their role plays out.
By agreeing to allow me to review your novel/work/product you are stating that I am not liable for my honest review/opinion and that I am able to post this review on my various social media sites.
Thank you!
