5 Book Trailers I Wish Were Movies?!

Hey ya'll,
So as you know when a book is released their is typically this awesome book trailer that follows right after as a promotional tool used by the author. I have to admit when I see some of these book trailers my mind is taken by how imaginative and creative they are. Also, there has not been one book trailer that I have ever disliked. Each book trailer is always so unique from the other which is what I adore about them because to me a book trailer is apart of an authors signature. With that being said here are 5 book trailers that were so awesome that I wish they were a movie....

My Opinion

I loved this book trailer because actual footage was used to make this. I like the fact that I get to see real people instead of pieced together pictures that look like the same person. The creator of this book trailer did an awesome job and it definitely propels a reader to invest in this series because of how much of an investment we can see went into creating this trailer made especially for us.
Raygoza's novel is hot and I would get it while you can!

My Opinion

First off I love how cleverly placed these images are to show the inner animals of each character. Even though this trailer is short it still places a lot of information that will lead you cringing for more. White has hit all the marks with this one!

My Opinion

This book trailer is the definition of sexy! However, that isn't the half of this story. Rectify is apart of a love binding trilogy that will keep you highly entertained. This book trailer perfectly blends together the drama and love of their story.

#4. Schmagic by H.L.Oldie

My Opinion

I am always attracted by anything that involves magic and this book trailer is full of it! I love the illustration used in this book trailer. I find that it is very rare to find book trailers meant for an older crowd to use detailed drawings in displaying the message of their novel. I believe that Oldie did a good job at using these creative illustration to capture the essence of his books.

My Opinion

I am a big fan of Simone Elkeles and I enjoyed seeing a visual representation of her characters. It' one thing to read and visualize and then there's another thing to actually see these characters in real time. Simone Elkeles is a fantastic writer and this sequel to her Perfect Chemistry series is amazing!

As you can see it takes a lot to get on my top 5 list of amazing book trailers that I wish were movies. If you are an author or know of an author who has an awesome book trailer then comment their information below or send me a message using the contact form to your right. Also, if you happen to know aany of these authors or are huge fans of their work then be sure to share this post with them. 5 Books Your Child Should Have This Christmas!?

Hey ya'll,
Christmas is just about here, but let's be honest with ourselves...the shopping never stops. So when you're in the stores lurking about for presents please keep in mind that this is the best time to get books for your children. Due to it being cold outside and the roads typically being ruined by snow children are stuck inside with nothing to do. So here are five books that I believe will keep your family entertained and your children thinking during this brief break from school.

#1. Diary of a Wimpy Kid by Jeff Kinney

Synopsis

It’s a new school year, and Greg Heffley finds himself thrust into middle school, where undersized weaklings share the hallways with kids who are taller, meaner, and already shaving. The hazards of growing up before you’re ready are uniquely revealed through words and drawings as Greg records them in his diary.

My Opinion

This book is one that I have enjoyed a lot! I really love this series by Kinney due to the fact that it contains things that relate to children today. We all face bullying in some form or even feel insecure at times while undergoing secondary school and I feel Kinney lets us know that it's okay to be who you are through the tales of a child. Also, the movies are a great tool to utilize in bringing this book to life.

#2. Shanna and the Big Race by Tiana Washington

Synopsis

It's field day at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School, and Shanna is ready to win big! Join Shanna, Nia, Lela, Asia, and the rest of her classmates as they strive for field day gold. Mark...Set...Go! It's Shanna and the Big Race!

My Opinion

I always love stories that teach children strong values. And this children's book does exactly that by teaching them the importance of having perseverance, dedication, and believing in themselves to know that they can do anything that they put their minds too. Washington has created a great series!

#3. On The Run (The Wardrobe Gang) by Melinda Kinsman

Synopsis

The Top of the Wardrobe Gang are a close-knit team of book-writing cuddly toys. When Santa Claus delivers Thingy, a small but very naughty cuddly toy, they aren't particularly happy about it.

My Opinion

I personally love this time of year because of the fact that there are so many stories in relation to Santa Claus and they are all uniquely different! Which is exactly what you get when you read a book from Author Melinda Kinsman. I adore her work and it truly has my 7 year old brother and I in the holiday spirit.

#4. The True Story of Christmas by Scott Freeman

Synopsis

The True Story of Christmas explains the reason we celebrate a holiday called Christmas and gives the historical context of the birth of Jesus according to the Bible. The story begins with God’s perfect creation and the tragic consequences of the fall for humanity. After Noah’s flood, God’s restorative plan begins with His choosing of Abraham and the people of Israel. Kids are introduced to Israel’s prophets and their foretelling of a special child who would one day be born to set up a good and everlasting kingdom. The Christmas story is the beginning of the fulfillment of this long-anticipated event.

My Opinion

I love this children's book because it tells the story of how Jesus was born without losing the importance of why he was born. I feel this is a very educational story detailing how Jesus came into this world and it helps a child to get closer to their religious faith and what Christmas really signifies.

#5. Duck's First Day of School by Author KMJ

 Synopsis

Duck's First Day of school entails the trials and tribulations that a young boy named Duck experiences while attending school for the first time. Will Duck make new friends? Or will bullies get in his way?  Duck relates to everyone by showing you can conquer your fears with courage that just multiplies. In addition, children will learn to appreciate the differences of others.

My Opinion

I wrote this children's book at the age of 7 years old and I really wanted to show children that you can find friends in unexpected people. And that the person they may count out is actually better for them to have in their life. Nothing in my book is computer animated so that children can mimic the illustrations at home. This story is relatable to everyone because we've all had to go through that first day of school and have had to face our fears.

That's it for my top 5 list of books your child should have this Christmas. As always the link to purchase these books are on the title. In addition, if you are looking for a book for someone that is older than 8 years of age you should check out my latest post.

Until Next Time! ;*  Merry Christmas.....

10 Books Your Teen Should Have This Christmas?!

Hey ya'll,
So Christmas is right around the corner and if you are like me then you must still have tons of shopping left to do. And something that I most definitely like to purchase during these winter months are books! For the past ten days as I braved through my college finals I was able to narrow down my search of hundreds of books to only ten that are must-haves for this holiday season.

Synopsis

The remnants of the United States of America have been divided. From five enormous, technologically-advanced cities, the Greaters rule over the Lessers.
In the Lesser village of Orchard, things are not as perfect as Abby Kelley thinks they are. When the apple harvest draws near and the Greater’s engineered fruits become too much for one village to handle alone, reinforcements from neighboring villages are called upon.
Having to choose between her best friend, whom she has no romantic feelings for, and mysterious newcomer Crew, Abby finds herself in the middle of a harvest that she had no intention of becoming a part of. She becomes involved in a situation that threatens the strict rule of the Greaters, and just might give the Lessers hope for a better tomorrow. But, can she help the Lessers without losing Crew? And if she chooses Crew, will she lose her best friend?

My Opinion
Author Casey L. Bond never ceases to amaze me with her artistry when it comes to her writing and developing a new spin on what seems to be an age old story being passed around throughout time of teen heartbreak. If you are a person that loves the Divergent series then this novel is right for you!

#2. Driven To Kill by Chris Ward

Synopsis

There is mayhem and murder committed by two young thugs in the local areas of Epsom and Leatherhead. Foster and her sidekick Mick Hill, are chasing shadows as the thugs are not only ruthless, but extremely clever.
An adult story full of suspense, spectacular action, violence, passion, intrigue and tears.

My Opinion
I have alway been a huge fan of the mystery genre. I love the works of Stephen King and even James Patterson. I feel they are wonderful writers. I also believe that Author Chris Ward is an amazing writer as well. Ward captures crime in a wonderfully suspenseful manner. If you want your mind to get to work then this is definitely a novel you should check out!

#3. Eluding Illusions by Wren Michaels

Synopsis
Emma Banciu dreams about her novels taking on a life of their own. Thanks to a centuries old Gypsy curse, they tend to do just that. Writing with pen and paper she brings things to life, and hell hath no fury like an antagonist scorned. Now she's on the run from Kyrin, an evil demon warlord who surfaced from one of her first manuscripts. And the only way to get rid of him is to destroy the manuscript.

My Opinion
I have read a few books by Author Wren Michaels and I have yet to be disappointed by anything she creates. This novel is kind of like the newly released Goosebumps movie except I find that this will appeal more to adults instead of children because of the context of this novel.

#4. Forever Since An Apple by Ken Welsch

Synopsis

Reality TV stardom. Garage band dreams. Through the lens of his camera, news photographer Daniel Evart sees a world in which opportunities are evident and success is clearly defined. If only life was that simple. Set on a fictional college campus in rural northwestern Michigan, "Forever Since An Apple" tells the story of how Daniel struggles with early-adulthood confusion and learns to define his own measure of success.

My Opinion

This a great coming of age tale about a young adult coming into his own. If you love John Green then you will most definitely love Welsch's novel. This is a must-read for all.

#5. The Reluctant Sacrifice by Kerr-Ann Dempster

Synopsis

Centuries ago, sibling rivalry tore Aramith apart. As punishment, the losers were stripped of their immortal birthright and banished to Earth. There, they wasted away from old age and diseases. However, there is hope… If a Shaw child, born on the 12th day of the 12th month offers her soul in a public sacrifice, then the exiles will be forgiven and welcomed home to Aramith. Aubrey Shaw is that child, but dying for the exiles is not on her to-do list. Using her gift as a Jumper, Aubrey leaps between bodies to escape relentless shape-shifting hunters.

My Opinion

I loved this novel and I am desperate to get my hands on the next installment of this novel. There is so much action occurring non-stop that will keep you glued to the pages! Make sure you check this book out. It surpassed my expectations.

#6. Chasing Memories by Ellie Wade

Synopsis

What if you found him, the one who was put on this earth for you? He was your perfect partner, your soul mate. Your life with him was more than you could have ever hoped for. The two of you created an amazing family full of so much love.
I did. And it was everything.
Then, one day, I woke up, and he was gone. They were all gone.
I can’t accept it. I’m stuck in a reality that isn’t mine, aching for the life I lost, one that made up the very fabric of my soul.

My Opinion

What I love about the winter time is that you have all these interesting love stories being told that just melt your heart! And this novel is something that is so intriguing that it will keep you highly entertained and in the "loving" spirits this Christmas...at least for a little while.

#7. 97 (The Rise of the Battle Bred Trilogy) by V.L. Holt

She’s happy with her life: she’s got One True Friend, a set of wheels, and the best job ever, newspaper delivery girl! #8. The Dimension Thieves by Misty Provencher

Lacking necessary materials, there is literally no way in Force’s world to replace the one-of-a-kind gear.

My Opinion

This book has been at the top of my TBR list for too long! I am so sad to say that I was in the same room with Misty Provencher and I did not get a chance to meet her, but hopefully in the near future I will get to see her again sometime! #SheRocks #Inspired Be sure to check this book out so we can fangirl about it together.

#9. Saved By Her by Michelle Horst

That’s all I do, it’s my safe zone.
I get paid well because I’m good at my job.

My Opinion

I do not recommend this book ro anyone under the age of 18. I love this novel because it reminds me of Simone Elkes novel Perfect Chemistry. As I stated before I love a good love story and this is just what I need to keep me entwined this Winter.

#10. Laws of Passion by Author KMJ

Synopsis

Laws of Passion is a novel that follows the life of a teenage girl named Audrey Kennedy as she mourns the death of her father and unknowingly becomes captivated by a supernatural creature who happens to have a vendetta against her family. Will she find out the truth? Or will she suffer the consequences from the sins of her family? Read it to find out more.

My Opinion

This is the first young adult novel that I have ever published. Please check it out if you are looking for a love story wrapped in so many layers of mystery which will cause you to question who to trust. Laws of Passion is the ultimate puzzle.
The question is will you be able to put the pieces together?
